Hoboken is our home and our history is a reflection of the character that’s embedded in this town. For three generations, our family has served the families of our beloved neighborhood.
Our business has been a mainstay in Hoboken since the 1930’s, and has served as a constant through both times of prosperity and adversity. Through hurricanes and floods, fires and other moments where we had to rebuild, General Lumber has been there.
What began as a modest lumberyard has grown into a full-service building materials and service provider for both consumers and trade professionals. And over time, our product offerings have evolved to suit the needs of an ever-changing industry. From the latest energy-efficient windows and doors, to the latest innovations in hardware, we keep progressing forward.
And as a family-owned business, we feel a personal responsibility to “do right” by our customers. That’s the real legacy we want to establish.
